EDSOGPADEC, AN HISTORICAL THREAT AND TRADE VENTURE AGAINST THE MASSES FROM THE OIL AND GAS PRODUCING COMMUNITY IN ORHIONMWON EDO STATE NIGERIA.

By Marxist Eghaghe Fame
Barrister Vincent Uwadiae EDSOGPADEC Commisioner

We have realized lately that the Edo State Oil and Gas producing area development commission (EDSOGPADEC) which was suppose to serve as the engine of development for all oil producing local government in Edo State has become more of a personal trade venture and historical threat against the local dwellers in the oil and gas producing rich in the Country. The reason for my assertion bore down to the rate of development we have seen on ground which is not commensurate to the entire money received so far since the establishment of the said rescue commission called EDSOGPADEC since 2010 after Larry Ogieva, the first chairman of the commission handed over to Barrister Vincent Uwadiae and his corrupt crew who now take the development of Orhionmwon and all other Oil and Gas producing communities in the State for granted.

Hon. Fidelis Okunzuwa, former Orhionmwon commissioner EDSOGPADEC
We have resolved to strongly be against the re-awarding of any previously awarded EDSOGPADEC project and extra spending on any past project from the newly budgeted income of EDSOGPADEC which is meant to be used for the execution of new projects for the year 2015 in Orhionmwon. We hereby call on Barrister Vincent Uwadiae who was opportune to be the chairman of the past and present constituted EDSOGPADEC board and Hon. Fidelis Okunzuwa who last represented Orhionmwon as commissioner to account for all monies that were meant for the Execution of those uncompleted projects Littered around Communities in Orhionmwon.

We have decided to begin to cry out to the hearing of the entire world because we the people of Orhionmwon are no more comfortable being the proverbial Goose that lays the golden egg yet remain the sick man of Edo State...
1.       We demand the Electrification of the entire Orhionmwon which remain the engine house of Edo State Oil wealth, we demand a better Central Hospital in Orhionmwon.

2.        we demand safe and portable drinking Water for the local dweller as the water that we drink have been poisoned due to gas flaring during the blow out of oil rigs that releases carbon monoxide to the air which have also polluted the air that we breath in, which have paved way for high mortality rate of our people and lose of Soil nutrient from our farm lands.

3.       We also demand massive youths human capacity building yearly with financial empowerment as a startup capital for any Orhionmwon youths who are being trained in the exercise so as to discourage many of our youths from becoming nuisance to the world as illegal immigrants.

4.        We demand also the mass employment of Orhionmwon graduate Youths by all the Oil multinationals and all Oil and Gas Agencies in Edo State.
Failure for our demands to be meant, we shall continue our peaceful campaign by involving all international Human Rights NGOs for the protection of the Human rights of our people. No government agency can take our rights and local government away from us because Human right is our property, for the right of man was never given by the generosity of the state but by the almighty God alone.

We call on all Orhionmwon sons and daughters home and abroad to join our resource control Liberation Struggle, which will enable us enjoy the dividend of our land oil resource else our children will ask us questions some days. We have nothing to lose as many of us are ready to give our lives as sacrificial lamb to Orhionmwon Struggle because we are tired of begging those government agencies that are saddled with developmental responsibilities to develop our land.
For Herold once say and I quote him that ‘Struggle is used to water the tree of freedom and for only through Struggle that freedom cometh’.
Hear us Environmental Justice international! Hear us Amnesty international! Hear us friends of the earth international! And hear Human Right Watch international for our cry and demands are very obtainable and justifiable.
