ESAN BHA KUGBE

By Odiboh

My people of Esanland, affiliate Esanites and those who align themselves with our people in one way or the other, let us accept one simple fact that united we stand, divided we fall flat on our face because unity is the strenght we need to become great sons and daughters of Esanland. The Esanness in us is not accidental but an ordination of the will of God in our lives. There are people from remote villages in Bangladesh, India, Atuagbo, Emu and Emunokhua, Ohordua, Ewohimi and Ewatto, Okhuessan and Ozigono, Igueben, Irrua, Ewu, Iruekpen, Ekpoma and Urohi to mention but a few places. These people were born there or originate from there because God has made it so.

The source of being Esan is not simply from origin but from what we are as a people, our ways of reasoning and mentality, our culture and languages, as well as the beingness of being Esan people on earth. This is a celebration of our values and heritage, our land, our relationships and family union and reunions. While all these are necessary for our existentialism, there are those obnoxious cultures and traditions of the past that are un-progressive or retrogressive to our beingness of being. There are those aspects of our lives that are culturally selfish and destructive to our well-being. Prominent among these are some of our obnoxious customs and traditions of the past, the act of envy and petty jealousy, the advent of negative witchcraft as weapon of evil and human destruction, petty gossip, pretense and idol worship, as well as acts of hypocrites in our communities. Most of these customs and traditions and our ways of life are responsible for the cries and woes of the Esan people, our torpidity and backwardness, and the underdevelopment of our fatherland.

Here people stay away from the truth and worship vanities and human egos. There is that Esan nature where most people do not wish for the progress of other people and do everything imaginable under the sun to cause misfortunes and try to hold the destiny of Esan people to ransom by delaying our progress. What we are as a people is what Esanland is today in terms of development and progress in our land. The story of Joseph in the Holy Bible and what his brothers and sisters did to him is the story of what most Esan people often do to their brothers and sisters in life using the Esan missiles and Esan forces of darkness as a bait to their evil and devious intentions. While some people are doing their utmost best to better the lives of our people and help make our fatherland a better place to live, there were always those people with very big wide mouth, empty like cans of worms in an empty vessel making loud noise, talking anyhow after eating eba and akpu, drowned with kinkana, local gin. They have very loud mouth with the heart of a devil full of creatures of darkness. This evil power in them or the emptiness in them make them drag backwards the progress being made our industrious sons and daughters. They discourage anything good in our lives because their hearts are either bewitched or tormented by the typical Esan ego of lackadaisical torpidity.

We must have a change of heart and shy away from those aspects of our lives that bring us no good. We must drown our pride and learn to be pious, humble people, and control the use of our words and mouth after eating cola-nuts. We must shy away from the bitterness of our hearts, unnecessary acrimony and malice which we hold against ourselves and embrace the spirit of goodwill and progress among ourselves if our names must start to have meaning on earth among other races and tribes. We must learn to love each other and wish other the best that life can offer our people and our fatherland. We must not allow our hearts to imbibe the spirit of petty jealousy in the common bonds that hold us together as a people. In this way, our case will not be like that of cola-nuts which decided to take the place of bitter-cola but refused to serve the purpose of Esan culture and tradition. Esan bha kugbe for the common good of our fatherland.

EDSOGPADEC UNDER VINCENT OSAS UWADIAE LEADERSHIP HAS PLACED ORHIONMWON IN A DISASTROUS STATE

BARR. VINCENT OSAS UWADIAE

The good people of Orhionmwon are beginning to philosophize why EDSOGPADEC has turn the entire communities in Orhionmwon into a site of abandon projects even when is explicit that those projects have being awarded and money released but yet the whole projects are abandon.

EDSOGPADEC is a fraudulent commission Vincent Osas Uwadiae and his agents are destroying our local government, we have approached them several times personally and even through our legal counsel to provide all the names of the projects , names of contractors and money allocated to all abandon projects in Orhionmwon in order to compel it with the level of development in Orhionmwon but the whole effort did not avail instead the commission also replied us through their lawyer telling us that we have no right to demand or to know all what we demanded for.

If EDSOGPADEC is not corrupt why are they hiding what we demanded for?? Both the old and the young people in Orhionmwon are tired of the fraudulent nature of EDSOGPADEC people are suffering in Orhionmwon while VINCENT OSAS UWADIAE is enjoying himself traveling around the world , OOH!!  What a shame.

We are using this avenue to appeal to all relevant authorities and the good people of Edo state to joins hands with us in this struggle to fight against the CORRUPTION IN EDSOGPADEC. EDSOGPADEC is anti-Orhionmwon, VINCENT OSAS UWADIAE is anti-Orhionmwon. ..

Enough is enough

EDSOGPADEC, AN HISTORICAL THREAT AND TRADE VENTURE AGAINST THE MASSES FROM THE OIL AND GAS PRODUCING COMMUNITY IN ORHIONMWON EDO STATE NIGERIA.

By Marxist Eghaghe Fame
Barrister Vincent Uwadiae EDSOGPADEC Commisioner

We have realized lately that the Edo State Oil and Gas producing area development commission (EDSOGPADEC) which was suppose to serve as the engine of development for all oil producing local government in Edo State has become more of a personal trade venture and historical threat against the local dwellers in the oil and gas producing rich in the Country. The reason for my assertion bore down to the rate of development we have seen on ground which is not commensurate to the entire money received so far since the establishment of the said rescue commission called EDSOGPADEC since 2010 after Larry Ogieva, the first chairman of the commission handed over to Barrister Vincent Uwadiae and his corrupt crew who now take the development of Orhionmwon and all other Oil and Gas producing communities in the State for granted.

Hon. Fidelis Okunzuwa, former Orhionmwon commissioner EDSOGPADEC
We have resolved to strongly be against the re-awarding of any previously awarded EDSOGPADEC project and extra spending on any past project from the newly budgeted income of EDSOGPADEC which is meant to be used for the execution of new projects for the year 2015 in Orhionmwon. We hereby call on Barrister Vincent Uwadiae who was opportune to be the chairman of the past and present constituted EDSOGPADEC board and Hon. Fidelis Okunzuwa who last represented Orhionmwon as commissioner to account for all monies that were meant for the Execution of those uncompleted projects Littered around Communities in Orhionmwon.

We have decided to begin to cry out to the hearing of the entire world because we the people of Orhionmwon are no more comfortable being the proverbial Goose that lays the golden egg yet remain the sick man of Edo State...
1.       We demand the Electrification of the entire Orhionmwon which remain the engine house of Edo State Oil wealth, we demand a better Central Hospital in Orhionmwon.

2.        we demand safe and portable drinking Water for the local dweller as the water that we drink have been poisoned due to gas flaring during the blow out of oil rigs that releases carbon monoxide to the air which have also polluted the air that we breath in, which have paved way for high mortality rate of our people and lose of Soil nutrient from our farm lands.

3.       We also demand massive youths human capacity building yearly with financial empowerment as a startup capital for any Orhionmwon youths who are being trained in the exercise so as to discourage many of our youths from becoming nuisance to the world as illegal immigrants.

4.        We demand also the mass employment of Orhionmwon graduate Youths by all the Oil multinationals and all Oil and Gas Agencies in Edo State.
Failure for our demands to be meant, we shall continue our peaceful campaign by involving all international Human Rights NGOs for the protection of the Human rights of our people. No government agency can take our rights and local government away from us because Human right is our property, for the right of man was never given by the generosity of the state but by the almighty God alone.

We call on all Orhionmwon sons and daughters home and abroad to join our resource control Liberation Struggle, which will enable us enjoy the dividend of our land oil resource else our children will ask us questions some days. We have nothing to lose as many of us are ready to give our lives as sacrificial lamb to Orhionmwon Struggle because we are tired of begging those government agencies that are saddled with developmental responsibilities to develop our land.
For Herold once say and I quote him that ‘Struggle is used to water the tree of freedom and for only through Struggle that freedom cometh’.
Hear us Environmental Justice international! Hear us Amnesty international! Hear us friends of the earth international! And hear Human Right Watch international for our cry and demands are very obtainable and justifiable.

EDO STATE OIL AND GAS PRODUCING AREA DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (EDSOGPADEC) HAVE BECOME A BIG FRAUD TO THE OIL AND GAS PRODUCING AREA IN EDO STATE.

Hon Fidelix Okunzuwa
former Orhionmwon EDSOGPADEC Commissioner

By Marxist Eghaghe Fame

one those EDSOGPADEC abandoned Project
in Orhionmwon LGA in Edo State.
The EDSOGPADEC commission is now more of fraud other than development to the Oil and Gas producing area in the Edo State due to the high rate of uncompleted projects that is being littered everywhere in the Oil and Gas producing Communities especially Orhionmwon Local government area under the administration of Barr Vincent Uwadiae and Hon Fidelix Okunzuwa beginning from the year 2011 till date.

It is no longer new that the Edo state Oil and gas producing area development commission (EDSOGPADEC) was set up in 2010 as a rescue commission to rescue the Aminu Kanus in the Oil and gas producing area of Edo state from social economic and political menace so as to leverage the suffering of the wretched of the earth. But so unfortunate the Commission was left in wrong hands, those who do not see man inhumanity to man as a grievous offense against mankind. It is for this reason the management board of EDSOGPADEC prefer to rather share among the selves 80% out of  the total allocation of #400million that is budgeted to be used for the development of the three Oil producing areas in Edo state, which include Orhionmwon,Ikpoba Okha and Ovia South Local government area of Edo State and spend only meager 20% for work. If the management board of EDSOGPADEC fees this is a cheap black mail as they have always accused Social Critics like us for, they should account for all their spending since 2011-2015 because we have written to them demanding documents covering all their project done within the above mentioned years as permissible under the freedom of information act which they have refused to let out to us. We have not relented in our struggle as we have the intellectual Capacity to tell the board members that they've done nothing in our communities compare to what they receive from milking our communities.  members of Orhionmwon Liberation Movement we continue to go about our gradual international Campaign peacefully over the marginalization of our people just like the Ogoni people of Bayelsa once did owing to the declarations of their various bills of rights.,

We stand to be corrected by EDSOGPADEC board authorities if our campaigns for our people Social Welfare and better living condition as people from the Oil and Gas producing areas of the state is wrong, but before then, they must put their house in order to answer my few puzzle questions below:

1. What was the mission statement of EDSOGPADEC and how much have the Commission received since the inception of the board?

2. What have they done so far to rescue the Commission from intense poverty state and ramshackle dwellings because the last time i visited my Village in Orhionmwon in May this year, there was still no electricity, no good road, no youth empowerment and employment, no water, no Good health care facilities and more. Yet the Commission receives 400million yearly.

Nokhua, Oroghoro,Ologbo and other interior
communities in Orhionmwon LGA

3. How many youths or able body young men have the Commission helped out of the hard street engulfed in the height of unemployment and poverty when there is so much to spend on human capacity  building to ensure a safer Society especially for the ever expanding number of Unemployed and unhappy youths from the Oil and gas region.

Whether they like it or not, Our Stand will continue to be that they should develop our land, empowered and employ our youths in the Oil sector as we also want to be part of the formulation of EDSOGPADEC policy making process for the development of the Oil and Gas communities in Edo State. Failure for the commission to do this, we shall have no other Option other than to make our noble and justifiable declaration know to the entire world by carefully enlisting our several bills of rights from different Oil and Gas producing areas of the State because I do not care anymore if I become another Kenule Saro Wiwa fighting the liberation course for my people because no government can exist without the consent of the people.
